The land of Robin Hood and Sherwood forest, this region has been at the
heart of many historic events. Hence the great variety of heritage
centres, museums and castles scattered throughout this beautiful part of
the country. The Peak District offers superb outdoor activities as well
as craft centres, pretty villages and lovely towns such as the old spa
of Buxton with its thermal springs. Together with its seaside resorts,
rivers and canals, Middle England is well worth a visit.
